Description
ACE/EPAM "beam-like" electron events refer to a specific type of solar energetic electron event observed by the Electron, Proton, and Alpha Monitor (EPAM) instrument on the Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) spacecraft. These events are characterized by a strong anisotropy in the electron pitch-angle distribution, meaning the electrons are traveling predominantly in one direction, resembling a beam. These field-aligned electron beams all have velocity-dispersed onsets, indicating that the solar injection of electrons began simultaneously.
