PUNCH Level 3 polarized K-corona science mosaic (trefoil), after background removal and polarization resolution into total brightness (B), polarized brightness (pB), and conjugate polarized brightness (pB') image layers. This dataset is a member of the Collection of PUNCH Level-3 Science Image datasets. Per instructions from the PUNCH team, reference to the entire Collection (including the DOI, see below) should be used when this and other member datasets in the Collection are needed for citation purposes: Southwest Research Institute (2025). FITS Extension #1 Brightness Data Array
Description
PUNCH Level 3 polarized K-corona mosaic stored as a compressed three-dimensional floating-point image cube with three image layers: total brightness (B), polarized brightness (pB), and the conjugate polarized brightness component (pB'). The data array dimensions are 4096 x 4096 x 3. The FITS header provides helioprojective longitude and latitude coordinates with an ARC projection and an alternate ICRS right ascension and declination coordinate system with a STOKES third axis. The pixel scale is 0.0225 degrees, or 81 arcsec, at the reference point. The nominal wavelength is 530 nm. The reference time is specified by the DATE-OBS FITS keyword.
