Description
PUNCH Level 3 polarized F-corona model derived from Wide Field Imager 2 (WFI-2) observations and represented in the PUNCH mosaic frame as an MZP (Minus, Zero, and Plus) polarization triplet, with a corresponding uncertainty array. The FITS file also includes a table containing file-processing provenance. This dataset is a member of the Collection of PUNCH Level-3 Science Image datasets. Per instructions from the PUNCH team, reference to the entire Collection, including the DOI below, should be used when this and other member datasets in the Collection are cited: Southwest Research Institute (2025). Description
PUNCH Level 3 polarized F-corona model derived from WFI-2 observations and represented in the PUNCH mosaic coordinate frame. The data are stored as a compressed 4096 by 4096 by 3 floating-point image cube containing the MZP polarization triplet: Minus (−60°), Zero (0°), and Plus (+60°). The image uses helioprojective longitude and latitude coordinates with an ARC projection and a pixel scale of 0.0225 degrees, or 81 arcsec, at the reference point. The nominal wavelength is 530 nm. The reference time of the model is specified by the DATE-OBS FITS keyword.

Reciprocal fractional uncertainty associated pixel by pixel with the WFI-2 polarized F-corona model in FITS extension 1. The stored value is the model intensity divided by its absolute uncertainty. The array size is 4096 by 4096 by 3, corresponding to the Minus, Zero, and Plus polarization layers.
